LAND

Andrew graduated from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor’s of Architecture degree in 1993. Over the last ten years Andrew’s resume has grown to include design, project management and construction administration.

After interning at several offices Andrew worked for a five year period at Hodgetts + Fung Design Associates in Culver City. He worked on the renovation and remodel of the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood for three years. During that time, he also designed and project managed the advertisement office for Kovell Kresser and Partners in Marina Del Rey. Other projects while at Hodgetts + Fung included the Sinclair Pavilion at the Art Center of Design in Pasadena and a World Savings bank branch in Alhambra.

For over a year, while at Gensler Los Angeles, Andrew worked on the offices for Revolution Studios. The three story offices included an internet company, a screening room, conference rooms and executive suites. Andrew’s role included design, material selection, construction documents and over six months of construction administration.

In 2002 he took a position with George Yu Architects in Los Angeles. Andrew was hired to oversee the design and rollout of the Maxstudio.com stores nationwide. In three years, over twenty stores were designed and built through out the United States. Locations included interior and exterior malls, exterior street fronts, and historic buildings. His responsibilities included design, project management, client and landlord relations, and construction administration. Cities included Los Angeles, New York and Houston. In 2003 Andrew also acted as project designer for the Maxstudio.com flagship store in the Soho district of New York. While at George’s office he also oversaw the design and construction of the Shaya retail store in the Beverly Center in Los Angeles.

After a year of freelance work Andrew opened LAND in 2005. LAND would encompass all of Andrew’s design, development, and project management interests. His current projects range from residential to retail and commercial. He has also contracted directly with Max Studio in a new role, now acting as their Retail Development Director - hiring the architects, contractors, and overseeing the construction of new stores. This year three new stores are in development: Copley Place in Boston, The Citadel Outlet remodel in Los Angeles, and a new store in Westfield Topanga in Canoga Park. Currently Andrew is also developing rollout prototypes for UNA Los Angeles and A.B.S. Both are women’s retail stores reflecting modern tastes in design and materials.
